Questions about Aureon, answered directly.

Straight answers about how Aureon works, where it helps, and where it deliberately stops. If a question here matters to your decision, the linked page goes deeper.

At a glance

Create-onlyNever sends or edits

Aureon creates new items and leaves your existing content as it is.

Trial7 days of Max

No subscription required to start.

Safety and boundaries

Aureon works inside apps that hold your real notes, tasks, and calendar. These are the limits it keeps.

Can Aureon send emails or messages automatically?

No. Aureon is create-only by default. It prepares drafts and creates new items, and it never sends messages or emails on your behalf. Sending stays a deliberate action you take yourself. When a request is ambiguous about the destination or the timing, Aureon asks instead of guessing.

How workflows stay reviewable
Will Aureon edit or delete my existing notes, tasks, or pages?

No. Aureon does not edit, overwrite, delete, or reorganize content you already have. Every capture adds something new: a new note, task, reminder, event, page, or memo. The one variation is Obsidian, where you can have Aureon append to a designated inbox note (by default an Aureon Inbox note) instead of creating a separate file each time. Either way, the notes you keep elsewhere in your vault are left as they are.

Voice to Obsidian
What happens if Aureon is not sure what I meant?

It asks rather than guessing. If the destination app is unclear, or a calendar event is missing a clear start and end, Aureon stops and confirms instead of dispatching a partial action.

What Aureon is

The short version, and the distinction that matters most.

What is Aureon?

Aureon is an AI input and workflow layer for Mac. You speak naturally, and Aureon turns your intent into polished writing, cross-language output, or new items in your connected apps. It runs as a macOS app you download from inaureon.com, and it works inside the apps you already use rather than as a separate chat window.

About Aureon
Is Aureon just a dictation app?

No. Dictation converts speech to raw text. Aureon turns speech into finished output — polished writing, a message in another language, or a new note, task, reminder, or event in a connected app. The difference shows up most when the spoken input is rough: restarts and half-finished phrasing become a clean message rather than a literal transcript.

Aureon vs macOS Dictation
Can I speak one language and write in another?

Yes. You can speak in the language that comes naturally and produce polished written output in another supported language. The result is written text you review before using — not live simultaneous interpretation or certified translation.

Cross-language communication
Is Aureon on the Mac App Store?

No. Aureon is downloaded directly from inaureon.com, which is the only distribution channel today. There is no iOS, iPadOS, or Windows version.

Connected apps

Aureon creates items in apps you already use. Setup effort differs by app, and so does what each one accepts.

Which apps can Aureon create items in?

Apple Notes, Apple Reminders, Apple Calendar, Things 3, Obsidian, Flomo, Notion, and Todoist. Advanced users can also connect other systems through a remote MCP endpoint. Setup effort differs: Apple apps connect with one click, Obsidian asks you to choose a vault, and Notion, Todoist, and Flomo use a token or webhook with a one-time connection test.

Voice to Apple Notes
Can Aureon create calendar events from speech?

Yes, when the time is clear. Aureon creates a new event with a title, start, end, timezone, location, and notes, and shows it for review first. It does not add attendees, send invitations, or set recurrence, and if the time is missing or ambiguous it asks rather than creating a partial event.

Voice to Apple Calendar
Can Aureon add to an existing Notion page?

No. Aureon creates new Notion pages and shows the prepared page before it is created. It does not append to, edit, or overwrite pages you already have.

Voice to Notion
Do I need the destination app installed?

For Things 3, yes — that connector works when Things 3 is installed on your Mac. Apple Notes, Reminders, and Calendar connect with a system permission. Notion, Todoist, and Flomo connect over the web with a token or webhook, so the app does not need to be installed locally.

Trial and pricing

What the trial includes, and what happens after it.

Does Aureon have a free trial?

Yes. Download the Mac app and get 7 days of Max access. No subscription is required to start. The trial gives you the full Max feature set so you can test polished writing, cross-language output, and reviewable workflows before deciding.

See plans
What happens when the 7-day trial ends?

Your Max trial ends and you choose a plan: Plus for everyday use, or Max to keep the higher limits. There is no permanent free tier, so cloud AI features require an active plan after the trial period.

Compare Plus and Max
How much does Aureon cost?

Plus is US$6.99/month or US$59.99/year. Max is US$19.99/month or US$159.99/year. New Plus monthly subscribers can start at US$1.99 for the first month, then US$6.99/month, cancel anytime. Plus includes 5,000 AI output characters per day shared across Input and Workflow, 3 custom agents, 3 devices, and 25 MB of knowledge storage.

Full pricing
Can Aureon use my own documents?

Yes. Custom writing agents can use knowledge files in PDF, TXT, and Markdown format, up to 25 MB total on Plus and 100 MB on Max. Knowledge files ground a custom writing agent in your own context, so output follows your formats and terminology.

Does Aureon store my voice recordings or transcripts?

Aureon does not maintain a cloud library of recordings or transcripts. Voice and optional context are encrypted in transit and sent for processing when you use cloud features. Speech and AI providers process those requests subject to our agreements with them, applicable service settings, and legal requirements. You can turn context sharing off in Settings.
