What Smart Actions are
Smart Actions start from content, not from a blank prompt.
Smart Actions work on text you select, type, paste, or import from your Mac. You choose one action, such as rewrite, translate, summarize, or explain, and get one text result back. For supported apps, Aureon can instead prepare one reviewed new item.
Most AI writing help starts with the same chore: copy the text, open another window, explain what you want, and paste the answer back. Smart Actions remove the middle of that loop. The text is already selected, and the action already knows its job.
Some jobs come up every day: answering a message, checking a paragraph before it goes out, turning notes into an email, cleaning up formatting. Aureon includes official actions for those, with preset options instead of instructions to write. When your job is more specific, you can create your own action with your own instruction.
When the result belongs in another app, a Smart Action can create one new item in Flomo, Apple Notes, Obsidian, Notion, or Apple Calendar. It only creates new content. If a request needs more than one destination, Aureon hands it to Intent Cast instead.
Official actions from Discover
Four everyday jobs, ready to add in one click.
Open Studio → Discover and add the official actions you want. They are hosted by Aureon, and you set them up by choosing options rather than writing a prompt.
Smart Reply
Draft a reply to the message you selected. Choose a friendly or professional tone and a standard, brief, or detailed length, and reply in the language of the message, your interface language, or another supported language. Nothing is sent for you.
Writing Check
Check spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Each suggested change is listed with its category and the reason for it, and you can copy the changes you accept.
Draft an Email
Turn your points into an email draft, with an optional subject line, greeting, and signature. Keep your tone or choose professional or friendly. It only drafts text; it never sends email.
Convert to Markdown
Turn formatted text into Markdown, with the option to keep links and images. It runs on your Mac and does not use AI output quota, though it still needs an internet connection to confirm access.
How it works
Select, choose, review.
Select the text
Highlight the text you want to work with, or type, paste, or import it.
Choose an action
Pick a built-in action such as rewrite or translate, an official action you added from Discover, or one you created.
Review the result
Read it before you use it. Pay attention to names, numbers, dates, and anything that commits you to something.
Before and after
Small jobs that used to need a chat window.
Each example is one selection and one official action.
Writing Check
Their going to send the the report tomorow, lets review it on monday.
their → they're · grammar; the the → the · repeated word; tomorow → tomorrow · spelling; lets → let's · grammar; monday → Monday · capitalization
Every change comes with its reason, so you decide which ones to keep.
Draft an Email
Ask Ana to review the draft.
Subject: Draft review — Ana, please review the draft.
The draft stays in Aureon for you to review and copy. Nothing is sent.
Convert to Markdown
“Title”, formatted as a heading
# Title
Useful before you paste into Obsidian or another Markdown editor.
Which kind of action to use
Built-in, official, or your own.

| Setup | None | Add from Discover and pick options | Write your own instruction |
| Extension slot | No | Yes, on Plus | Yes, on Plus |
On Plus, official items and the ones you create share up to 10 extension slots. Max has no limit. Built-in actions don't use slots.
Know the limits
One action, one result, and you stay in control.
Smart Actions prepare text and new items. They do not act on your behalf.

Before you add your first action
Common questions about Smart Actions.
Each action prepares one result. You review it before it goes anywhere.
01What are Smart Actions?
Actions that work on text you select, type, paste, or import on your Mac. You choose one, such as rewrite, translate, summarize, or explain, and get one result to review.
02Which official actions can I add?
Four: Smart Reply, Writing Check, Draft an Email, and Convert to Markdown. Add them from Studio → Discover. Voice Translation also offers Language Learning (Beta), which shows a short card explaining key expressions after a translation is inserted.
03Does Smart Reply or Draft an Email send anything?
No. Both only draft text. You decide what to send and where.
04Does Convert to Markdown work offline?
It runs on your Mac and doesn't use AI output quota, but it needs an internet connection to confirm access.
05Can I create my own actions?
Yes. You can create your own actions with your own instruction. On Plus, they share up to 10 extension slots with official items; Max has no limit, and built-in actions don't use slots.
